We plan to focus on local trips for the remainder of this year, and intend to make some longer trips in the new year when the weather improves. We will choose venues as we go, rather than plan a fixed programme in advance, so that we can make the best of conditions, weather and opportunities. Ideas from members for venues they would like to visit are most welcome.

We had a very good day out visiting Woolston Eyes. We saw 31 different species including the rare black necked Grebe. We also saw a reed bunting, Chiff chaff,, sedge warbler, many species of ducks, nesting swans and great crested grebes and many herons. At the feeders we had greater spotted woodpeckers, bull finches, coal tit and greenfinch.

Our May visit to Woolston Eyes

Venue and day/time: This is an enthusiastic group which visits a variety of different venues on alternate Thursdays. We meet at the venue and time listed in the programme below. If you require a lift then please contact the convenor.
