Short Walks

Lockdown easing

As the country cautiously moves forward and pandemic restrictions are eased, many of our groups will turn their attention to how and when our members can safely resume face-to-face meetings.

The following must be borne in mind:

Any dates for face-to-face meetings, events and trips are provisional and based on our understanding of the UK Government’s plan to gradually ease pandemic restrictions. As such they are subject to change. Please ensure you have the latest information from your convenor or organiser.

Any member who is feeling ill or displaying COVID-19 symptoms must NOT participate.

Convenors: Brian Pearson and Marlene Walker

To contact Brian and Marlene, please email salfordu3a@gmail.com marking the subject line of your email ‘FAO: name/job title’.

Venue and day/time: We meet on alternate Mondays at St Mark’s Church, Worsley, and leave promptly at 1pm.

The Walks Programme for 2021 will not be available until regulations allow these activities to resume. The programme for 2020 can be found via the link below.

This is a popular group sometimes at capacity for walking, so new members please contact Brian first. The walks are in interesting areas and cover 3-4 miles usually on good paths and with some short moderate uphill climbs, nothing that a reasonably fit person couldn’t manage.

We all take our time – no rush. Transport to the start of the walks relies on informal car sharing and expenses also being shared, a formula for which exists.
