Conversation

This is a new group is for people who enjoy the Spanish language, and Spanish and Latin American culture.

If you can speak Spanish at a reasonable level then this group may be for you. We try to avoid reverting to speaking English during meetings. The idea is that the group is a place to practice our spoken Spanish and to learn from each other.

Sessions will include conversation practice in small groups, and members will be encouraged to make a short presentation to the group on a given topic at each session. The presentation could be made by one or two or more members at a time, but it isn’t obligatory. You can just join in with the chat that follows.

If you feel the group may be for you, or have any questions about the group,  please contact the convenor so we can answer any questions you may have and, arrange for you to come along to a session if you wish. Or try a taster session (fee £2).

Third Monday of the month from 7-8:30 pm

There will be a charge of £10 every six months to cover the cost of room hire

Hola!

This is a group for people who have some prior knowledge of Spanish and who want to practise and develop their skills with other like-minded people.

We do speaking, listening and reading activities and play games to improve our vocabulary and speaking skills. While it is not a group for complete beginners, our group includes people with a wide range of abilities with some who are able to “get by” to others who can communicate proficiently.

¿Hablas español? Este grupo es para los que quieren hablar en español y practicar el lenguaje

Our emphasis will be on conversation in line with the interests and aspirations of members; it is not a teaching course. We will use written and aural material as a focus for our conversations, and as a means of exploring aspects of Spanish life and culture.

If you would like to join us, or want to know more about the group, please contact the convenor.

Alternate Thursday afternoons from 1:30-3:00 pm

There will be a charge of £10 every four months to cover the cost of room hire
