Pacemakers
Welcome to our newest walking group aimed at those who enjoy a more challenging walk!
Our walks are designed to be more strenuous and taxing than those of our other walking groups. They are not necessarily longer, but certainly not shorter – we are aiming for around seven miles or so – and will involve steeper climbs and descents, and are quite likely to have stiles. The terrain will be varied and include walking over fields and moors and we will try to avoid walking on tarmacked surfaces wherever possible.
Everyone is welcome to join the walks but, due to their nature, you will need a reasonable level of fitness so that we maintain the pace of the group. The walks are full day walks and you will need to bring a packed lunch. We ask that new members please contact the convenor before joining so we have an idea on numbers.
