Little theatres
The Little Theatre Group was formed to support live theatre performances in church halls, town halls, schools and community centres in our local Salford area. Many of us like to support these local activities but would much prefer to go with friends – that’s what this group is all about.
We meet for coffee once a month on a Tuesday morning so that people can get to know each other. We share ideas on what is coming up so that members can choose what they want to see. We aim to cover all genres including plays, musicals, comedies etc. When we decide on a performance, we book our own tickets so that everyone can choose their own preferences for seats and timings. We share details on our WhatsApp group so others know there will be someone to meet for a drink before the performance. Ideally we are looking for events with a ticket price of £20 or less. We favour venues which are accessible by bus but, where this is not possible, we will try to share lifts.
Our first theatre trip…..
Set during World War II in occupied France, the story focused on cafe owner Rene Artois – cafe owner and reluctant member of the French Resistance. His wife Edith was unaware of his dalliance with the waitresses….the cast brought the characters to life in this fast-paced farce based on the familiar TV sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo…..
