We are a group of around 12 who meet weekly, at Walkden Gateway, for conversation in French at an intermediate level – about everyday topics, trips, outings, family etc. – plus reading and translation from a magazine designed for groups like ours, with topics about daily life in France, quizzes and jokes (they can be somewhat strained!). Some of the items are backed up by CDs so we hear authentic French voices.

We’re not a teaching group but we enjoy learning from and with each other.  We give ourselves a bit of a challenge to keep our brains ticking over and, if it’s a long time since you practiced your French, you’ll be surprised how much you remember.

Venue and time: The group normally meets every Wednesday, from 2pm-4pm at Walkden Gateway but owing to Covid restrictions, we are currently meeting fortnightly by Zoom, from 2-4 on Wednesdays. We look forward to resuming our in-person meetings as soon as safe and feasible. Meanwhile, new members are welcome to join our Zoom group.

Please contact Mary for further information.
