Venue and Time/Date: This Group started in January 2018 and meets alternate Fridays from 1.00-3.00pm at Eccles Library.
Ann Jackson is among the highest qualified Iyengar teachers in the UK. Iyengar is a very precise form of yoga, but graded from beginners to experts.
Ann is fully qualified to teach remedial yoga so if you have any specific physical problems, let Ann know so she can take these into account.
You can exercise standing, seated or lying down. You will eventually need a proper yoga mat but initially a small blanket or similar will suffice.
Clothing. A T-shirt or sweatshirt plus thin leggings or jogging bottoms will be OK. Bring a loose top in case the room is a little cold at first. Usually you work in bare feet, but if this is a problem then socks with non slip soles will be fine.
The first session will be mostly stretching so Ann can assess what your body is capable of. There will be some work involving tables and chairs for support. From time to time you will work in partnership with another student, but Ann will be on hand to ensure you know what to do.
